The Danish government plans to halt the issuance of environmental permits for pig farms for approximately 13 months. ORGANE has responded to a public consultation and holds the firm view that this suspension would constitute a violation of EU law; the Danish government is obliged to maintain procedures and administrative processes for environmental permits in accordance with the Industrial Emissions Directive (EU/1785/2024) and cannot suspend all or part of the Danish implementing legislation for any period of time.
