GreenCycle is a project in Malta, held by the Farmers Central Cooperative Society Ltd (FCCS). The project promotes a switch from imported chemical fertiliser to bio-based fertilisers based on livestock manure processing. GreenCycle builds on the results of the SYNECO project that was implemented from 2022 to 2025 and will leverage on SYNECOs investments in pilot facilities for manure processing, utilising these for setting the production of bio-based fertilisers into operation. ORGANE's role is among other related to the use of bio-based fertilisers in practical crop production, promoting their applicability in vegetable production, for instance via integration in farmers fertiliser plans and via field trials to demonstrate their use to farmers. GreenCycle is funded by the FUSION R&I programme targeting Innovation for Industry. It is a national funding initiative managed by Xjenza Malta that provides financial aid to help private sector enterprises develop market-ready technological solutions. GreenCycle is implemented from Q4 of 2026 to Q2 2028.
